Linda Marie Leahy

The eldest of five children, she was born on August 8, 1953 in Lebanon, N.H., the daughter of the late Earl Pyer and Nona (York) Pyer who survives her.

Linda attended Hartford Elementary 1-6 (W.R.J.C.), Hartford Middle School 7-8 (W.R.J.C.), Hartford High School (W.R.J.C.), graduating in 1972. That same year she was named Alumni Queen.

Linda then attended Champlain College in Burlington, VT., graduating in 1974. She worked in the Burlington area and most recently, before moving to Arizona, she was employed at the Chittenden Solid Waste District in Williston, VT.

In Peoria, Arizona, Linda was employed at Heritage Palmeras Independent Senior Living.

Linda and Timothy J. Leahy were married on July 14, 1990 in Shelburne, VT., and made their home, first in Winooski and then in Williston, VT, before moving to Peoria, AZ in 2006.

Linda loved people, and the feeling was mutual. Linda and Tim enjoyed traveling, motorcycling, and meeting new friends along the way. Linda also loved all animals, especially her Oscar and Toby.

Survivors include her husband, Tim Leahy; mother, Nona Pyer; sisters, Ellen Roberts and Amy Pyer (Jeff Emerson); brothers, Thomas Pyer (Judy), Timothy Pyer (Richard Henderson). Also left to cherish her memory are cousins, Carrie Cattabriga (Don Sappington) and Robin Penn (Ron) and many nieces and nephews.

There will be a Memorial Service held at St. John Vianney Church, 150 Hinesburg Rd, South Burlington, VT on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 11AM. Interment will be at Resurrection Park Cemetery at the convenience of the family. For those who wish to remember Linda, it would be simply a random act of kindness for someone.

A Memorial Service will be held on September 6, 2016 in Arizona for her family and friends.
