

Beloved husband, father, uncle and friend. Lorenzo Herrera Espinoza “Larry” was born January 6, 1929 in Cottonwood, Arizona. Larry was the middle child born to Lorenzo Garcia Espinoza and Rosa Herrera Espinoza. His brother Gabino and sister Manuela preceded him in death. Larry is survived by his son Darryl (married to Evelyn) and daughter Toni.
Larry graduated from Clarkdale High School in 1946 and went on to attend Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff until he joined the U.S. Air Force in 1950. During a tour of duty in England, Larry met and married the love of his life Sheila V. Hall who passed away in January of 2023. After spending 26 years in the Air Force and enjoying multiple tours of duty in England and assignments in France, Thailand, Germany and Spain, Larry retired in Washington State. His second career was in State Government and it was during this time that he completed his bachelor’s degree in business graduating from Easter Washington University.
Larry moved to Peoria, Arizona in the mid 80’s and began working for the State of Arizona, Office for Civil Rights, ending his near twenty-year career as a Compliance Manager.
Larry and his wife had a passion for travel that began early in his military career and continued throughout their life together. Whether travelling locally in the state of Arizona or somewhere exotic abroad their quest for adventure was inspiring.
The family requests donations to Hospice of the Valley in lieu of flowers.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 8 at 11 am at Sunland Mortuary, 15826 N. Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ 85351. Followed by a committal service at 12:30 pm at the National Memorial Cemetery, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85024. Following the committal service will be a catered lunch from 1:30 – 3:30 at Sunland Mortuary.
