Lynn W. Hodge

Lynn Wright Hodge, 82, went to her heavenly home at 4:48 p.m. on August 30, 2021 in the presence of her loving husband, George William (Bill) Hodge. Lynn was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, her family, church, and community. She was born in Pontiac, Illinois to the late Lloyd Frank and Irene Vera Wright.

A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Sunland Mortuary, 15826 Del Webb Blvd, Sun City AZ 85351. Calling hours will begin at 9:00 a.m. Services will be recorded and available about four hours following the conclusion of all services. Lynn attended Pontiac Township High School and graduated in 1957. She received her BS from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1961 and went on to complete her Graduate degree at Catholic University of America in 1968. She was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha (ZTA).

Her nursing career took her to University Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio where she was a Clinical Nurse Specialist. Lynn then went on to Kaiser Permanente, specializing as a Geriatric Nurse.

Lynn had a wide circle of friends, was a member of the Red Hats, Trilogy Women’s Book Club, and was active in the ZTA Alumni Association. She was a devoted Christian and member of the Christ’s Church of the Valley (CCV) and Trilogy and Prescott Christian Church Bible Study groups.

Lynn is survived by her husband Bill of 23 beautiful years. They married July 26, 1998. Also surviving are children: Kahty Chenoweth Milstead (Ben) of Medford, OR, Bruce William Chenoweth of Peoria, AZ, Brian Richard Chenoweth of Prescott, AZ, Brett Elton Hodge of Medina, OH, and Lezle Elizabeth Hodge of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren: Alex Milstead (Evelyn) of Riverside, MD, Summer Milstead, and great granddaughter Casey Marie; brother Gary (MaryAnn) Wright; nephews: Shawn, Eric (Kristi) and David Wright, D.J. and Bill (Stacey) Elliot, three great nephews and three great nieces; sisters-in-law: Linda Hodge Lind (Ben Moore) of Holden Beach, NC and Mildred Hodge Coe of Greensboro, NC; nephews: William H. Lind (Naomi) and their sons Akiva and Gideon of Newton, MA, and Dorn Moore (Sara) of Baraboo, WS; niece Katherine Pugh of Asheboro, NC; cousins: Cherie Matteson of Ottawa, IL, Susan Dolder of Urbana, IL; Ruth Piros of Carlisle, IA, Kenneth Wright of San Francisco, CA, John Wright of Oklahoma City, OK and Susan Dooley of Minneapolis, MN.
