Margie's story began in Dawson, Nebraska on a little farm in 1941 with her parents Marjorie and Junius McCowan. In Dawson Margie worked hard, played practical jokes, and caught fireflies with her three sisters Pat, Linda, and Anita. After attending Dawson-Verdon high school, she followed her dream of becoming a registered nurse at Immanuel School of Nursing Omaha (Class of '62). Luckily, that path led her to find the love of her life, Dale Barton; the cute pharmacist down the hall. They wed in June of 1964 and began their journey together. They raised three children, Scott, Todd, and Kelly in Washington State with their keen sense of humor and loving hearts. After retiring, Marge and Dale headed to Sun City AZ to be close to Dale's mom, Ruth, whom they both loved dearly. Margie found joy in her church, crocheting, and beating Dale in any game she could. Her greatest joy in life were her five grandchildren: Grace, Kenny, and Hanna (Barton) and Nicholas and Nolan (Sandifer). Her family never had cause to question the depth of her love for them. She lives on in the legacy of her children and grandchildren. We will do you proud, Mom.
Margie is survived by her husband, Dale and their three children; Scott (Shelly), Todd, and Kelly (Connor), her sweet grandchildren, her two dear sisters Linda and Anita, and countless nieces and nephews. A memorial in her honor will be saved for a future date. We love you Margie.
