Masia C. "Dude" Smith

Masia spent her life serving Jesus Christ and helping others through the Salvation Army for over 20 years. She lived in Peoria, AZ, for over 50 years.

She was survived by her two sons Calvin Lee Smith and Colin Day Smith, two daughters-in-law Jane Smith and Teresa Smith, four daughters Linda Hales, Shirley Cunningham, Carolyn Davenport and Charlene Smith Armstrong, a sister, 23 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, 24 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Dave Day Knight, her mother Nona Bell (Roberts) Knight, three sisters Dorothy Mae (Knight) Jones, Daisy Vivene (Knight) Arp, Lona Marie (Knight) (Talley) Hood, two brothers David Louie Knight and William Dwayne (Buddy) Knight, and her former husband Buddy Smith.

Viewing will be held at Sunland Mortuary, 15826 Del Webb Blvd. Sun City, AZ 85351 on June 20, 2012 from 4-8pm. Memorial Service will be held at Sunland Mortuary on June 21, 2012 at 10am. Interment and Reception will immediately follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family would request that donations be given to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 East Flower St. Phoenix, AZ 85014. Sunland Mortuary was entrusted with Masia’s care.
