Mildred M. Conway

She will be lovingly remembered by her brother, Joseph Yorrie, of Lindenhurst NY. She will be forever cherished and missed by her children Michael Conway (Judy) of Sun City AZ, Kathy Jaeger of Norwalk CT and Edward Conway, Jr. (Dorothy) of Mountaintop PA. Grandma Millie will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Michael Conway, Jr. of Paso Robles CA, Lauren Moore of San Diego CA, Edward Conway III of Philadelphia PA, David Jaeger, Jr. of Norwalk CT, Erin Conway of Norristown PA, Maren Conway of Santa Monica CA, Danielle Conway of Mountaintop PA and Jake Rouse of Las Vegas NV; and by her five great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, especially Deborah Gauzza.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Millie was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lena Kirchener Yorrie. She was predeceased by her husband Edward, and brothers John and Frank. Millie raised her family in the Brooklyn/Queens NY City area before moving to Sun City upon her retirement in 1983. Millie obtained her RN license during World War II; she was a gifted nurse who gave great care and compassion to her patients and those who worked with her. She was a staunch advocate of higher education which she instilled in all of her children.

Millie truly loved her family and friends, watching sports, following the stock market, video poker, horse racing, bingo, and reading. Millie will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the many individuals whom she so positively touched.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2012 from 12 noon to 3:00 PM at the Sunland Mortuary, 15826 Del Webb Blvd, Sun City AZ with a prayer service at 3:00 PM. Burial will be at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale NY on April 14th.
