The son of Fred and Emma Hockamier was born on June 28, 1936 on a farm near Clarkson, Nebraska. He graduated from Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, Nebraska with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. He joined Peter Kiewit Sons’ Inc. on a construction project in Sioux City, Iowa in 1959. From there he proceeded to work on missile projects as an accounting supervisor in California and South Dakota. In 1963, he was promoted to District Business Manager in Phoenix until 1979 when he was assigned the position of Corporate Field Office Administrator headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska. He retired in 1987 after 28 years with Kiewit.
He is survived by his wife Joan, daughter Tamara and three sons Tab, Sterling and Mason. His parents, three brothers and sister all preceded his death.
Services will be held at Sunland Mortuary, 15826 Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ with visitation being held on Friday, June 26, 2015 from 6-8 pm and funeral service to be held the following day, Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 10:30 am. Interment to follow at Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City.
