Patricia Ruby Martin

Patricia (Pat) Ruby Martin (Burbach) passed away on September 7, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on July 8, 1940, Patricia was a long-time resident of Sun City, Arizona. She was known for her hard-working, creative, resilient and generous nature.

Born to Charles and Bernice (Jean) Burbach, she grew up in Mundelein, Illinois. From a young age, Pat devoted herself to her family and to hard work. She was preceded in death by her sister Charlene. Pat married Gregory Martin on June 24, 1974, and together they enjoyed a long life together. The couple moved to Arizona in 1983, and just celebrated their 50th anniversary last summer in Sun City with most of their family and close friends.

In her professional life, Pat was a talented interior decorator. She dedicated 25 years of service to Sears, and then continued her career for another 25 years at Lowe's. Her dedication to her duties and her faithful work ethic were mirrored in the love and devotion she showed her family. Despite being somewhat of a workaholic, Pat always made time for her family, whom she loved dearly. She had a passion for making a home, both hers and her clients, the best it could be. She dedicated more than 50 years to transforming spaces into welcoming homes, a talent she loved and excelled in. Pat also cherished her family, spending as much time with them as possible.

Pat is remembered and survived by her husband Greg, and her children William (Sandra) Thode, Robert (Christina) Thode, Pamela (Todd) Reddeman, Steve (Patti) Martin, and Randy (Rachelle) Martin. Pat is also survived by her eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, and many other loving family members and friends. She was dedicated to her family and friends. Pat embodied a "salt of the earth" approach to life, demonstrating through her actions what a life well-lived looks like. Her work ethic and devotion to her family left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Pat will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
