Patricia Ann Tucker, 78, peacefully went to her heavenly home on June 24, 2025, in Sun City, Arizona. Born on November 4, 1946, in Blytheville, Arkansas, she was truly the baby of the family, with the oldest siblings being almost 20 years older.
Patricia – known affectionately as Aunt Pat or Ann – lived much of her younger years in Scotts Hill, TN before moving to Arizona in the ‘80’s. She graduated high school in 1964 with honors in Poplar Bluff, MO. She lived a life rooted in faith, family, friends, and love. From an early age, she embraced her Christian faith with unwavering devotion, gave her heart to Jesus the summer of ’64 and was baptized in a pond near Scotts Hill. She was fearless in sharing her belief that “God is good”, and she lived each day guided by strong moral values and a commitment to Jesus.
She worked as a seamstress and floor supervisor for a local sewing factory and later went on to be a Social Services Manager for the State of Arizona where she later retired. She was very generous and always looking for ways to give back and help others. An example of that was in her social services role where she was not allowed to provide food to the clients, so as a work around, she would leave fruit/snacks on her desk and leave the office allowing the clients to eat if hungry. Even on a fixed income, she would give her last dollar if it would help someone else out.
She started her more than 50-year career of making what many people have described as “the best peanut brittle they have ever eaten” in 1968 making the brittle to sell at The Mount Tabor Pentecostal Church fundraisers in Parsons, TN. Most any family member who expressed their fondness of the brittle, likely made their way by her house each December to find out if the brittle had been made for the season yet in hopes of getting a little to go bag and some may have received packages in the mail on occasion. She cherished the times she could host family at her Sun City condo and had fond memories of frying catfish and hush puppies or making tamales as a group.
Patricia joins her husband James, her parents Bob Taylor and Willie Evelyn Blackburn; and her 8 siblings: Billy Gene Blackburn, Ernestine Hood, Chlotine Felker, Tommy Gene Blackburn, Charles Taylor Blackburn, Judy R. Hargiss, James Robert Blackburn and Joe Franklin Blackburn.
She leaves behind many friends, cousins, nieces, nephews, a very special sister-in-law, and special friend Randle Camper, who will all miss her dearly. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love her. May her enduring faith and generous spirit continue to bring comfort to all who mourn her passing.
