Phil was born in Anthony, Kansas, to James and Rena Price. He was the youngest of five siblings, and he cherished his mother, father, and siblings Jim, Clara Beth, Bill, and Carol. After graduating from Anthony High School, Phil started work at Boeing. He briefly left to serve in the Army before returning to Boeing. In Wichita, Kansas, Phil met Darlene Ritter, the love of his life. They were married in 1965, and in 1968, Boeing moved them to the Seattle area. In 1970, Phil started working for the Washington State Department of Personnel, where he remained until retirement.
Phil was a kind, loyal, fair, and hardworking man who loved his family deeply. He believed in leaving things better than he found them. Phil treasured his extended family and always looked forward to spending time with them. He had a great sense of humor and loved to play pranks, laugh, and enjoy good music. Phil enjoyed dancing with his wife in the kitchen, on the dance floor, or anywhere they could. He also loved playing card games with family and friends, we didn’t stand a chance in a game of Oh Hell. Phil loved playing golf during his retirement, he always picked up his tee’s and hated to leave a ball in the rough. However, his greatest joy was watching his children achieve their goals and building a life with Darlene. Phil was a faithful follower of the Lord and was thankful for all the blessings in his life.
Phil is survived by his wife of 58 years, Darlene Price, his children Lisa (husband Ron), Leslie, Marc, and Lori (husband Lake), and his grandchildren Matteo, Bella, Olivia, Myles, Leila, and Tricia.
A celebration of Phil's life will be held in Auburn, Washington, this summer, hosted by his family.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.sunlandmemorial.com for the Price family.
