

Phyllis Jean Horton was born at home in Grand Island, Nebraska to Arthur and Lula Roberts as the middle child of six siblings. She graduated from Golden High School in 1962 and her first job was at the Russell Stover candy factory in Colorado.
She graduated from airline training school in 1963, later working for Frontier airlines before moving to Washington DC in 1966 with her husband. She was married to her husband, John, for 59 years and they had three children, the oldest of whom they sadly lost at birth. The majority of Phyllis and John's life together was spent in Colorado before retiring in Arizona. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked as a secretary at Smoky Hill High School and was the bookkeeper for her church for many years.
Phyllis was a proud mother and loving wife. Her passions included cooking, sewing, knitting, word searches, puzzles, solitaire, games, and she adored dogs. Phyllis is survived by her sons Sean and Nathan, daughters-in law Tawyna and Cimarron, and siblings Betty, Dale and Kay.

A funeral service will be held at Sunland Memorial Park, Mortuary & Crematory, located at 15826 North Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ, 85351, United States. The service is scheduled for November 6, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
