Richard Franklin Collings

He attended and graduated from Davison High School, in Davison, Michigan. 1960 to 1964, Richard served in the United States Air Force, and was stationed in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He was in the 389th Missile Maintenance Squadron SAC, where he was a Plumbing Specialist. After serving in the Air Force, he became a private pilot, and Flight Instructor.

Richard loved aviation, and belonged to the West Valley Flying Club from, 2007 to 2024. He was employed by General Motors, in Flint, Michigan, at the Chevrolet V-8 Engine Plant for 35 years, where he worked as a maintenance supervisor, and was the plant Safety Supervisor when he retired.

After retiring, he moved to Boyne City, Michigan, also bought a home in Sun City West, Arizona. He played Senior Softball in Sun City West for 17 years. In 1988, he married his wife, Doreen, in Flushing, Michigan, and they just celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary in October, 2023.

Richard had many interests, and loves. He loved his God, Jesus, and Restoring Hope Church. He loved his family, daughters, Janinne Collings (Kalamazoo, Michigan), Stacy Howe, and husband Mike, ( Rapid City, South Dakota, ) step-daughter, Kristen Germak, and significant other, Rod (Apache Junction, Az.), Stepson, Stephen Germak, and wife Leisa ( Flint, Mi.), grandchildren, Bailee Long, and husband Dylan, of Tucson, AZ, Hollyann Germak, (Surprise, AZ), Stone Stevens ( Flint, Michigan ).Richard Garrett, and wife Taylor (Kalamazoo, Mi ), Stephen J. and wife Rachael (Flint, Mi.), great grandchildren, Jadin, Mylah, Maleah, McKaya, Lillie, and Carter.
