Roy Ellis Bentley

Roy E. Bentley 88, was born May 6, 1929 in St. Albans, Queens, NY to Roy Bentley and Dorothy Gooding. He died peacefully on November 7, 2017 near his home in Glendale, Az. He lived in Arizona for 38 years where he was an active worshipper with the Episcopal Church.

Prior to moving to Arizona, Roy and his wife of 49 years,"Ricky", lived in Montvale, NJ., where Roy was a member of the Elks lodge BPOE 1562 Westwood, NJ for 16 years and served as Lodge Secretary for 13 years of those years. In 1979 he was made an Honorary Life Member. Roy spent most of his working years as a salesman, and retired from Tyton Corporation.

Roy is survived by his beloved wife Manilva "Ricky" (Robinson) Bentley and his children, Dawn (Brad) of Jacksonville, Fla; Robert of New York; Sheri of Pickerington, Ohio; Steve (Michelle) of Kirkwood, NY; and Cindy (Steve) of Sierra Vista, AZ; as well as his step children, Dave of Vestal, NY , Kathy(Greg) of Clarksville, TN; Holly(Todd) of Willet, NY.

Roy has been blessed with 24 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service with military honors will be held at Sunland Mortuary Chapel in Sun City, AZ on Tuesday, November 14 at 3PM. Memorial donations may be made to St Jude's Children's Hospital (www.stjude.org).
