Ruth was a force of nature. After her husband of 56 years, Gordon, passed away in 2006, Ruth was blessed with many more amazingly healthy, vibrant and well-lived years, close to her many friends and her family. Ruth was raised in Oradell, New Jersey, the daughter of German immigrants. She attended the Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in New York City, an accomplishment of which she was very proud. She met Gordon on a bus in New York City after he returned from the war and they were married in 1949, settling in New Jersey. They moved with their two young children, Mark and Carrie, to Cleveland, Ohio where Ruth was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. Ruth had a keen home decorating talent. She loved remodeling and making her homes beautiful and inviting. She and her husband (and their cat) moved to the Phoenix area in 1998 to be near their children and grandchildren, play golf and enjoy their many friends, new and old. Ruth loved traveling the world. After Gordon’s retirement they did just that, making wonderful memories.
Ruth is survived by her son, Mark, and his wife, Patty, granddaughter Lindsay (Daniel), and great-grandson Cary; daughter, Carrie Tatkin (David) and grandchildren Alexander and Katarina. Ruth was interred at the Congregational Church of Sun City, Arizona, next to her beloved husband.
