Ruth E. Simmons of Peoria, AZ passed away on November 26, 2012. She was a retired school teacher and freelance writer, born in Pesotum, IL, daughter of Elsie Tucker Fackler and Oliver G. Fackler. Her husband Robert L. Simmons preceded her in death on December 5, 2001. Mrs. Simmons was a member of DAR, Lakeview United Methodist Church and Calvary United Methodist Church. Survivors include children Bobbie Cooper (Phoenix, husband Ray), Bonnie Weissmueller (Scottsdale, husband Jay), Bill Simmons (Chandler, wife Helen), grandchildren Carl Cooper, Adam Cooper, Erin Slepak, Devin Miller, Matthew Simmons and Samantha Simmons, great-grandchildren Makayla Slepak, Isabella Slepak, Ryan Slepak, Christopher Bender, Michael Cooper, Thomas Cooper, Brody Miller, Ashton Miller, Cassidy Cooper, sister Mary Margaret Guinn (Peoria) and brother Wayne Fackler (Ashdown, AR). Visitation will be held at Sunland Memorial (15826 Del Webb Blvd, Sun City) at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, November 28th. Funeral service will follow at 1 pm.
