Susan A, Roberts, age 74, succumbed to cancer, passing away peacefully on Thursday, December 12, 2019, at her home in Glendale, Arizona. She was born March 1, 1945, in Hannibal, Missouri, to William (Bill) Schuetz and Kathleen (Erickson) Schuetz.
She was a 1963 graduate of Aurora High School, Missouri. After high school, Susan attended Southwest Missouri State University. She married Ron G. Roberts on May 16, 1992, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Susan was a medical assistant for Dr. Frederick Kenny & Dr. Lawrence Shapiro (gastroenterology) for twenty-five years. Susan also worked as a medical transcriber with Sunland Mortuary in Sun City, displaying a deep love for helping those who had lost the ones they loved. Susan truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, playing Pinochle with friends at the community center, being an avid tennis player, loved to read and owned a book store as well, placing fun bets at the local casinos, and played a tough hand of black jack too! Susan was an avid animal lover as well. She had many cats and dogs throughout the years. Susan was the most amazing protector and provider. Susan always took the utmost care of her children and family, always having an open-door policy to help her friends who were down on their luck.
She is survived by her husband, Ron; a brother, David Schuetz; a daughter, Michelle Capritta; a son, Timothy Jones and grandsons, Dorian Santana, Logan Jones and Jared Jones.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Susan touched are invited to the St. John’s Lutheran Church, 7205 North 51st Avenue, Glendale, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2020, to reminisce, grieve, support each other and celebrate the life of Susan.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Arizona Humane Society in Susan’s name.
