Theda Mae Vickers

 Born on April 2, 1930, Theda grew up in Rochester, Ohio on the family farm and enjoyed farm life to its fullest. She always loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and spending time out on the boat. Later in life, she continued to cherish the outdoors, and took up calligraphy, making greeting cards, and playing board games. She also thoroughly loved going on cruises and experiencing the world on the cruise vessels. Above all, Theda loved her family and her faith. The two being the cornerstone to her perception of the world. She always had a kind word and was a helping hand to many in her life. On June 19, 1949, Theda married Richard Herron Vickers. Together they had five children (1 girl and 4 boys) and shared a wonderful life until his passing. Theda was a devoted homemaker and a hard-working full-time mother to five children. She loved all her children and treated them equally, giving all the love she could offer. She also helped the family business and kept the books for the sporting goods store the family had in Big Bear, California. Theda enjoyed all the joy her children and husband brought her throughout the years. She was a prime example to everyone who knew her about the importance of hard work and family.

Theda was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Herron Vickers, who passed on January 6, 1995, and by her son, Ronald Mark Vickers, who passed on December 9, 1957. She is survived by her children Karen Sue, Richard Allen, Russell Lee, and Mark W. Vickers. Theda is also remembered by her grandchildren Kenny, Mark, and Melissa Vickers.  

Theda was a deeply loved women by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She will be equally missed.

A Visitation will be held at Sunland Memorial Park, Mortuary & Crematory, Lakeside Chapel, 15826 North Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ 85351, on March 9, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.  

A Funeral Service will be held at Sunland Memorial Park, Mortuary & Crematory, Lakeside Chapel, 15826 North Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ 85351, on March 9, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.  

A Committal Service will follow at Sunland Memorial Park, Mortuary & Valor Section Of Cemetery, 15826 Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ 85351, on March 9, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.

A Celebration of Life and reception will be held at Sun City Country Club 9433 N
