Thelma Irene Cannon passed away peacefully after 98 happy years on April 11, 2012. She was born March 15, 1914 in Nebraska City, Nebraska. She moved to Long Beach, California and married her husband of 67 years, Raymond. The family lived most of their years in Long Beach, California. Thelma was happiest spending her time sewing for herself and her daughters, and spending time with her many friends, fishing, boating, travelling in their motor home and at their cabin in the mountains at Big Bear, which they owned with six other couples. They moved to Sun City in 1985, many of their friends and family soon joined them, moving also to Sun City. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond, and twin brothers Marshall and Morris Wilgus. She is survived by her daughters Margie Meadows of Sun City and Linda (Dan) Granados of Surprise; four grandchildren, RaeLynn Lipold, Randy Willard, Chris Moriarty and Renee Garcia; and four great-grandchildren, Lyndsey Velker, Derek Velker, Michelle Moriarty and Reis Willard. Funeral Services for Thelma will be Tuesday April 17, 2012 at 2pm in the Lakeside Chapel at Sunland Mortuary in Sun City.
