Tom and I met at the state fair in 1964 here in Arizona while we were both dating someone else but when we met we knew right away we belonged together and soon after started dating. Tom was being drafted into the Army for the Vietnam war so we decided to Marry before he entered. The Army then decided not to take him away. They came back to take him to Vietnam and by that time we were expecting our first child who turned out to be a baby girl Lisa in November 1966, They decided not to take him again at that time but again they came back and we were expecting our second child which again turned out to be Jennifer, at that time Tom was working at Union Oil for awhile. The Army came back in 1968 to try and take him a third time which wouldn't you know it we were expecting our 3rd third child which turned out to be a boy Christopher; then the army decided it was too expensive to take him so he was safe with all of us. He was a great husband and father and did everything he could for his family. He coached Jennifer’s softball team for a couple years as well as Chris’s baseball teams for over 12 years. He was always highly involved in the kids life and always helped them to succeed. He taught us all how to appreciate each other and work together when we were together.
Tom himself loved to Bowl which he did on several teams and was a very good bowler. He also liked to play mush ball although he was a bit small he was always one of the best players thanks to his son. Tom also enjoyed BBQ and outside picnics he liked to work outside as well on the pool or the bushes and mowing the lawn.
Tom was also involved with his grandkids very much and would take them bowling or shopping to kids stores and he was always able to give them what they wanted and needed he was always able to give time to each grandchild of his in life and often even other children on his baseball teams and softball teams.
When it came down to everything Tom was always there for people who needed him and especially his wife and family. Everyone seemed to know him; he had such a spirit people were just easy to be around him. When we walked into the stores everyone always knew him and would talk to him so easily.
Tom’s last job was with Banner Health group in which he was a Security Supervisor and was always so easy going and liked very much by his co-workers and hospital staff even people he did not know still knew him as I found by calling other hospitals, it feels so good to our family to have been blessed to have Tom as a husband and Father and Grandfather.
May he rest in peace with god.
