Willard Grover Compton of Sun City, Arizona, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025. He was born August 19, 1936, in Kentucky to Emory and Wadie Compton and spent most of his life in Toledo, Ohio. Willard served in the United States Air Force and worked in the auto industry for over 36 years and was a member of the United Auto Workers. Willard enjoyed the art of stained glass, the mystery of magic, golfing and travelling, especially to Ohio, Louisiana and West Virginia to visit family and friends. He also enjoyed spending time with his adopted dog, Harley, who passed November 2023.
Willard is survived by his wife Dorris Compton; his children, Willie (Marizol) Compton, and Anita (Jeff) Jacobs, and his stepchildren, Charles (Stella) Sheaves Jr. and Regina Sheaves; his siblings, William (Sharon) Compton, Ruth Miller, and Ruby Webb; his nephew Harry Smith, along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Willard was preceded in death by his parents, Emory and Wadie Compton, and his siblings, Frank, Simey, Emory, James, Mary, Rosa, Elizabeth and Geneva. A special thank you to White Rose Hospice for the compassionate care and assistance they provided.
