

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jang San Sun and Oh Uhp Sung, and her brothers, Jang Duk Hwan, Jang Gi Hwan, Jang Suk Hwan, Jang Gi Ho and Jang Bok Hwan. She is survived by her son, Hawk Kim, her daughter-in-law, Eloisa Kim, and her siblings, Jang Geum soon and Jo Hwa Ja, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Her close friends, neighbors, and co-workers, who all held a special place in her heart, were also like family to her.
Young was born on November 8, 1941, in Seoul, South Korea, during the Japanese occupation and spent her early years amidst the Korean War. Her schooling was limited due to the hardships of that time, but she became a self-made entrepreneur, running multiple clothing shops, as well as a bakery and coffee shop, in South Korea. In January 1989, she moved to Phoenix, Arizona, to give her son a better opportunity in America. She went on to work at Luke Air Force Base and Orbital Sciences Corporation simultaneously as a housekeeper and janitor, overcoming language barriers with her determination and hard work for over 30 years.
Her home in Surprise was a beloved gathering place for family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at 15826 North Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ 85351. A graveside service will follow from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Sunland Memorial Park, Mortuary & Cremation Center, 15826 Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ 85351.
