Aaliyah was born August 27, 1997 in Los Angeles, California to Lolita Chambers and Aundra King. Lolita relocated with the family to Arizona in 2004 where she resided with Uncle Ronnie, who was also Aaliyah’s loving caregiver. Aaliyah was affectionately known as “LeLe” and everyone who knew “LeLe”, knew she had a beautiful spirit. She loved music and loved to dance, and her smile would light up the room. “LeLe” also had a firm way of letting you know what she wanted, and everyone knew to get it for her. She was the older sister and everyone else was a baby. “LeLe” was a protector in her own little way. She was a good student and liked to express herself through artwork, coloring beautiful pictures for her family. “Lele” loved her mother’s home cooking and always made sure to say her grace before each meal. ‘Lele” worked extremely hard in school and it paid off when she graduated from ACCEL high school in May 2019.
Her mother made sure “LeLe” was always well taken care of and that is why she had the best caregivers. Netta was also a loving caregiver and taught “LeLe” many things. Her last caregiver was her loving stepfather DC who took good care of her. He loved her as if she were his own and always protected her. “LeLe” loved him very much! She loved to play with her brothers and always showed them love.
“LeLe” went home to be with the Lord July 9, 2020 at the age of 22, and although “LeLe” had a short time on this earth, she was loved by so many and made a positive impact on everyone she met. She left many lasting memories that will make everyone smile. She will be deeply missed but Heaven has another Angel that will continue to smile down on everyone. She is preceded in death by her Grandmothers Barbara Rankin and Odessa Chamberlain, Grandfather Sylvester Chambers Sr., Great Grandfather Aaron Chambers Sr. and Great Grandmother Jessie Mae Chambers. She is survived by her mother Lolita Chambers-Coleman, father Aundra King, Stepfather Dwayne Coleman, brothers Kyle Henson, Andre King, and Christian Long and sister-in-law Marcella Garcia. Uncle Sylvester Chambers, Aunts Tesa Thomas, Tonya Fuery, Sherita Moore, Anita Thomas, Tonya Chambers, Michelle Chamberlain Shonda Chamberlain, four nephews, and a host of cousins that loved her very much!
