Allan Dean Jones

Allan Dean Jones, 91, of Surprise, Arizona, passed away on December 29, 2023. He was born on July 1, 1932, in Kingsley, Iowa, USA. Allan was a self-employed contractor, specializing in custom houses. He took great pride in his work and was known for his attention to detail and craftsmanship.

In addition to his success career, Allan had a passion for Bocce Ball. He enjoyed spending his free time playing his beloved game with friends and family. His dedication to the sport was evident in every match he played. He also enjoyed playing Euchre and other card games.

Allan served in the Air Force, where he acquired valuable skills and made lifelong connections. His military associations played an important role in shaping his character and instilling a strong sense of discipline and duty.

Allan is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Dixie Jones. He was a devoted husband and their bond was an inspiration to all who knew them. Allan also leaves behind his daughters, Julie Criss and Cindy (Gary) Strunk, as well as his granddaughter, Kelli (Andy) Cloud and Brandy (John) Howe, and grandson, Kirk Strunk. He was a proud great-grandfather to Mercedes (Tom) Schreiner, Natalie Cloud, Adler Howe, Nadia Howe, Nile Howe, Eva Strunk & Grayson Strunk and great-great-granddaughter, Willow Schreiner.

Allan's sister, Sharon Shapiro, held a special place in his heart.

Allan was preceded in death by his father and mother, Harold and Ethel Jones , his sister Shirley Heeren, and his brothers Duane (Jim) Jones and Eddie Jones. Their memories will forever be cherished.
