Anna Puhl

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of the loving matriarch of our family, Anna, who left us on November 20, 2024. Born on September 26,1938 in the small town of Piskorevci, Yugoslavia (now Croatia) the daughter of Johann and Eva Schleiss. She was a source of love and strength for our entire family.

Anna was the beloved wife of Joseph Puhl. She will be sorely missed by her three children, Elizabeth “Liz” Miller (Barry), John Puhl (Karen) and Gerald “Gary” Puhl (Lisa). Anna was a loving Oma to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren all of which were her pride and joy. She will forever be cherished by her eight grandchildren and three step-grandchildren, Lauren Siegel, Ashley Bourjos (Peter), Kevin Puhl (Samantha), Rebecca Schilling (Kyle), Jackson Miller (Savannah), Victoria Puhl, Samantha Puhl (Connor), Alex Puhl as well as Haillie Hornburg (Joel), Marni Miller (Schuyler) and Brandon Schwark (Stacey). Her legacy will continue on through her beloved fourteen great-grandchildren who brought immense happiness to her life. She treasured every moment with them.

She is also survived by her two siblings, Johann (Hans) Schleiss and Maria Isemann, both residing in Frickenhausen, Germany. Anna will also be missed by numerous friends and relatives, especially her nephews, Guenther Gartner (Daisy), Joseph Gartner (Cathy), Andreas Schleiss (Ari) and her niece Tanja Volpp (Alex).

Her legacy is one of love and unwavering support. She taught us all the importance of family and the value of hard work. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. We will miss her dearly.

There will be a Visitation on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. prior to the Rosary Service at 1:00 p.m. at Surprise Funeral Care located at 16063 W Bell Rd., Surprise, AZ. A Celebration of Life and luncheon to follow.
