We will fondly remember her kindness, cheerful personality, radiant smile and laughter.
Cathy was born in Florham Park, NJ on Easter Sunday, April 2, 1961. She was a proud graduate of Hanover Park High School’s Class of ‘79 and earned a B.S. in Psychology from Western Carolina University in 1983.
She married Christopher Petrucelli on November 8, 1986, in Morristown, NJ, and they would experience life together in homes in New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Colorado and Arizona.
In addition to being a full-time loving mother and homemaker, Cathy developed a successful career as a Sales Director for Mary Kay Cosmetics and was later in retail jewelry sales with Kohls. She had a true passion for her family and old friends, life in her dream home in Sun City, shopping, boating and sailing on the Five Bells, and sightseeing when traveling. She enjoyed watching General Hospital and reruns of Friends, loved classic soft rock music, and was a diehard fan of the New York Yankees and New York Football Giants. Her favorite treats included dark chocolate, mint chocolate chip ice cream, tiramisu, and a good cup of coffee.
Cathy is survived by Chris, her husband of 39 years, son, Michael of Colorado and daughter, Andrea of New York City, mother Lois Bell and siblings, Bob Bell and Carol Bowen. She is predeceased by her devoted father Gilbert and her beloved Yellow Labradors, Trouble and Winnie.
Cathy was committed to finding a cure for brain cancer, with the hope that other families would not endure our life-changing struggles.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that you join this noble cause by donating to the brain cancer charity of your choice, or to The Ivy Brain Tumor Center at Barrow Neurological Institute, where Cathy was treated for the last 10 years.
Please see the link below and be sure to complete the Tribute Information section by indicating that your donation is in memory of Cathy Petrucelli.
