

Clemente T. Garza, 64, of Phoenix, AZ passed away peacefully on September 3, 2013. He was born in Tahoka, TX on October 25, 1948 to the late Juan and Maria Garza. He was raised in San Angelo, TX and moved to AZ in 1963 where he met his lifelong love, Eloisa P. Gutierrez. Clemente served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. During this time, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with three Bronze Stars, US Army Commendation Medal and Expert Rifleman. He married his sweetheart, Eloisa, on January 2, 1971. Clemente dedicated his life to his family, strong spiritual beliefs and his passion for work. He was proud of his accomplishments at retirement. Clemente is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Eloisa; both parents; a sister Eva; and four brothers - Samuel, Ynacio, Robert and Oscar. He is survived by his two loving daughters, Michelle and Monica Garza; grandson Joshua Garza; son Vicente Calzada; brothers Juan and Jose Garza; sister Felicitas Armenta; and many nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed and remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 PM, Sunday, September 8, 2013 at Surprise Funeral Care, 16063 W. Bell Rd, Surprise, AZ. A Catholic Mass and Interment to follow in San Angelo, TX.
