Dennis Robert Buck

Dennis was born in Canton, Pennsylvania and attended schools in Canton and Troy, Pennsylvania. While there, he worked on a dairy farm, ball bat factory, chicken farm, and a machine shop.

Dennis married Amy Spotts in 1969, and in 1982, the couple moved to Arizona. He began working for Sunstate Equipment in Phoenix, Arizona in July 1982 and remained with the company for 36 years. During his career, he went from wash rack to yardman, and truck driver to dispatch until finally becoming the manager of Peoria yard. In 2002, Dennis transferred to the San Diego, California branch of Sunstate Equipment, where he stayed for 11 years. In 2013, he returned to Arizona to manage Peoria branch once again until his retirement. He was Employee of the month several times and their very first Employee of the Year in 1990.

Dennis and Amy were extremely active volunteers for several organizations - WSM Police toy drive, SR87 highway cleanup, and Sun Cities 4Paws Cat Rescue.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Ellen Buck, brothers, Mark Buck Jr, David Buck, Duane Buck, and sister, Sandy Crawford. Also predeceased by in-laws Elmer and Barbara Spotts and sister-in-law, Alice Finnerty(Gilbert).

He is survived by his beloved wife, Amy, sisters, Bonnie Yeager (Al), Dale Bower, Carol Eddy (Donnie), Mary Buck (Ardie) and brother, Harry Buck (Clara). Sisters-in-law Rose Esty (Ken), Cathy Careaga (Gary-dec), Linda Sobotka (Jim-dec), Karen Wright, Sharon Pierce (Bob-dec) and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 12:00pm to 3:00pm at the Holiday Inn Express - 16540 N Bullard Ave, Surprise, AZ 85374.
