

Earl Lawrence Zopf, Jr. Passed into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, April 2, at his home in Sun City West. Earl was born in Pittsfielf, Massachusetts; the son of the late Earl L Zopf, Sr. and Elizabeth (O’Brien) Zopf. Earl served in the United States Army and went on to retire from General Electric Company with over 45 years of service. He relocated to Arizona in 1995 with his beloved wife, Gerry. Their children, Lizette, Krista, Teresa, and Eric soon followed with their spouses; William, Curtis and Sandra. He also leaves behind seven Grandchildren; Katie, Taylor Elizabeth, Luke Mason, Kyle and Samantha. Earl enjoyed spending time with his family and puttering around their houses, fixing anything he could get his hands on. Before his stroke, Earl served in the Sun City West Posse. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Elks. He enjoyed riding his bike around town, scouring estate sales for bargains, swimming and playing Bocce Ball as well as Softball. Earl’s greatest joys were his family and friends. He will always be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and helpful neighbor, with a kind smile and generous heart.
Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of Surprise Funeral care, Surprise, AZ. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday April 11, from 4-7PM at Surprise Funeral Care. 16063 W Bell Rd. Surprise, AZ 85374. The Funeral Mass is to follow on April 12 at 10AM at the Prince of peace Church in Sun City West, followed by the a Committal Service at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, AZ.
