She was married to Harvey Carnehl, the love of her life, for 62 years before his passing in 2011.
Lorraine was the beloved mother of four children: Judith Newby (George), Linda Gunn (Chris), Peggy Hakseth (Wally), and Harvey Carnehl (Pat); grandmother of eight grandchildren; and great-grandmother of ten great-grandchildren.
During her life, she lived in Chicago, Illinois, and its suburbs; Thiensville, Wisconsin; Fullerton and Agoura, California; Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri; and Surprise, Arizona, though she remained a “Chicago girl” until her passing.

She and Harvey traveled extensively, both internationally and within the U.S. She was happiest when her family visited her. While living in Surprise, Lorraine enjoyed playing in her monthly Bunco group, visiting with close friends and participating in the St. Clare of Assisi Parish Prayer Shawl Ministry.
Lorraine was the heartbeat of her family and will be deeply missed by all who loved her, family and friends alike.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 5, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, 17111 W. Bell Rd., Surprise, Arizona.
