I can still remember when Jimmy got that new red Mustang!Youwould`ve thought it was the one and only Mustang in the world, and to him,it was.We were just glad when he came around, and did a little burnout with it for us younger guys who were still walking!! He was a guy with a good humorous personality.He was not afraid to do anything legal to earn a buck.I can remember him washing and waxing Ron Shulte`s Corvette,and loving it!!

Sorry to hear.  I knew Jim back in Dolton,IL in the 70’s when he was a brother-in-law to Chris Zabor.   He used to tutor us high school baseball players.  RIP Jim.

RIP.....Jim it was a pleasure to have known you ...the years at the Wonder Bar will never be forgotten for our generation....I still laugh when I talk to people who hung out there....will keep you in my prayers....

So sorry to hear about Jimmy.  We shared many beers together and many laughs.  Some of the stories about him were legendary. He was a great athlete as many knew stories of his exploits on the baseball and softball fields. My brother in law Jerry Jacobs was the scout who signed him to the Oriole organization back in the day.  Jerry played ball with Jimmy's older brother Bob and so had an inside track on him. You always knew when he was around because of his ear piercing whistle. Goodbye smoke we will miss you...

Jim Neath. Sorry you are not here amongst us anymore. But now you are pain free with a new body.  You introduced me to my first major league fastball and curve. You called them Mr. buzzbomb and The deuce. You told me they were coming but I didn’t believe you and I didn’t touch either one of them. You were a great teammate for many years and I appreciated all the fun and baseball advice you gave to me. You’ll never be forgotten Jim that’s for sure. The Babe has left the building! I was so sad to hear of Jimmy’s passing. Great memories of socializing and playing baseball and softball together. He was a kind man and always had a smile on his face. A great athlete and even a greater person. Being with him just made you feel good. Never heard him say anything  bad about anyone. Deepest sympathy to his entire family. He will be missed by many. Memory eternal.

I was good friends with both Dennis and Jim.  I spent many evenings socializing at the local establishments with Jim. We always hugged each other when ever we saw each other.   We d bitch about everything from A to Z.  He was a great pitcher and a good friend.  He's playing in the big field in the sky. God bless Jimmy. Dave 

Jim was a terrific baseball player.  We played against each and then on the same team for several years.  He alway had a quick wit about everything.  He always treated  everyone kindly.  He was loud and love able.  I will miss him.

I went to Bowen School with Jimmy.  He was I year ahead of me.  I remember he loved baseball and was great at it.  He lived 2 blocks from me.

My best friend Smoke, the babe, king of swat, the bambino.  We go back a long way.  We lived down the street from each other.  We played ball, waxed our cars, raced our cars, and spent a lot of time at every bar you can think of.  He was one kind guy and a great friend.  Always kept me on my toes behind the plate.  He would strike out 16 and walk 10 or 12.  Loved his mom and pop.  We also worked a few years together in construction.  He was so happy to move to Arizona with his son and daughter.  No more snow for me he would say.  l could  go on and on but the tears and my nose are running too much right now.  Love you Smoke.

So sorry my good friend the bambino,passed away. I’ve known jimmy for 50 years and you’ll never find a better person. I still remember all the high school times as well as all our softball days. He sure is going to be missed. He’s not suffering any more and he’s with the lord. God bless jimmy and his family
