Joyce Ann Bisson (nee Kosloski) passed on January 22nd, 2025. She leaves behind her spouse, Edward E Bisson and three children, Tom Bisson, Carolyn Bisson (Sean Holt) & Tim Bisson with five grandchildren: Taylor, Jordyn, Jolee, Lucas & Dagan.
Joyce was born on May 25th, 1940, in Dearborn, MI and grew up with her sister, Judy. Joyce went to Dearborn High School and graduated with honors. She earned a four year scholarship from the Ford Motor Company to attend the University of Michigan. She graduated with an MS Degree in Medical Technology. Joyce joined the Phi Mu Sorority and was voted to be the Treasurer for the Sorority. Upon graduation, Joyce worked as a Medical Technician at several different hospitals until her retirement from Dearborn Oakwood Hospital in 1998.
Joyce met Ed at a party thrown by two of her Sorority sisters and they were then married for 58 years. Joyce worked as a Medical Technician while also running the household to raise three children. She loved to cook, as long as Ed would do the dishes. She also loved to knit and knitted baby caps & blankets to donate to local hospitals. While running the family, Joyce was also socially active with her involvement in the Bridge Group, Book Clubs and Alumni Sorority functions. Joyce also enjoyed the family summer vacation trips to Northern Michigan.
After retiring, Joyce took up golf to join her husband on the links and enjoyed the social aspect of a round very much. Her golf game was not overpowering but she was accurate and scored a rare “hole-in-one” on August 20, 2012. A feat of which she was very proud. During her retirement years, Joyce & Ed traveled to many different counties including Ireland, France, Spain, Portugal, Croatia, Greece, China, New Zealand, Australia, and most of the states in the continental US as well as Alaska & Hawaii.
Joyce was a very kind, loveable, caring person and will be dearly missed by family & friends.
Services will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Sun City West with the viewing from 10:15-10:45 followed by a mass at 11:00. Reception to follow at the Surprise Funeral Care in Surprise, AZ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Red Cross or the Alzheimer Association.
