Patricia Sue Morton

Patricia Sue Morton, mother to David Thompson, Judith Kitchen, Susan Lombardo and Timothy Thompson, passed away on May 1, 2023 at 6:30 PM after a short battle with brain cancer. Her final moments were spent peacefully in her home in Waddell, AZ, surrounded by family.

Pat enjoyed a successful career in banking in Arlington Heights, IL, where she achieved a senior vice president level before retiring in 1992 after 28 years in the industry. Moving to San Diego 2001 she decided to go into real estate and took the exam in July 2001, accepting a position at Coldwell Banker. Pat earned the President’s International Diamond award in 2004 and enjoyed 7 years as a realtor before retiring a second time in 2008 when Pat and Don moved to Waddell AZ. Personally known for her devotion to family and strong Christian faith, Pat will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Pat’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life not the sadness of her passing.

She is survived by brother John Thurman (Lynn), sister-in-law Judy Thurman; children, David Thompson, Susan Lombardo (Jim), Timothy Thompson, son-in-law Dwayne Kitchen; 4 grandchildren, Melissa Whitehouse (Michael), Amanda Carroll Glaspie (Kevin), Thomas Carroll (Emily), Grant Thompson, and 5.5 Great Grandchildren, Adalyn, Blake, Carter, Millie, Matthew and Mabel (due in July 2023), as well as her beloved kitty Skyler. Preceding her in death, was her soulmate/husband Donald F. Morton of 40+ years, brother Gene Thurman and daughter Judith Kitchen

A visitation will be held at Surprise Funeral Home, May 13, 2023 at 9:30 AM followed by a celebration of life memorial at 10 AM. Flowers and memorial gifts are welcome but not necessary.
