

Roger James Bolan of Surprise, AZ passed away on Tuesday November 12, 2024 at the age of 95. He was born on November 11, 1929 in Sand Lake, MI. Roger is preceded in death by his Beloved Wife, Mother, Father, and Brother. He is survived by his children, sisters, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Roger served proudly in the United States Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller. Upon completion of his service in the Military he went to Washburn, University where he obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, became a Certified Public Accountant and opened his own practice where is specialized in taxation for over 60 years. He was an avid handball player and later in life writing poetry became his passion. He published a beautiful book of poems that shared many parts of his life and will be treasured forever by his family and friends.
Roger’s legacy to his family is eternal optimism, generosity, unselfishness, unbelievable strength, a strong work ethic and above all an unbridled love for life and unconditional love for the people in his life.
Words cannot adequately express how much he was and always will be loved and how very much his presence will be missed. What a Great Life He Lived.
In one of his poems, Grandpa and Me, he wrote “I always tried to live my life with Grandpa as my measure….” Our family will go on and we will try to live our lives with Roger as our measure.
