

Samuel (Sam) N. Cappa, 87, of Surprise, AZ passed away on December 14, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Rose, wife Janet (DeSalvo) mother of his sons, and his siblings Catherine and Jesse
He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy, his sons Vincent, Gregory, and Peter, his step-daughters, Karen and Carol, along with his siblings Joseph and Jeanne.
Sam was a beloved grandfather to Dominic, Emma, Anthony, and Maximus and great-grandfather to Melody.
Sam grew up in Chicago, IL and spent his early years serving in the U.S. Army. He was deployed to Korea at the age of 18 to defend our nation. In his business life, Sam exemplified what is means to be a dedicated, hard-worker while being employed with the same Company, Spiegel Catalog, for over 35 years until his retirement.
Sam was an avid Chicago sports fan and enjoyed cheering on the White Sox, Blackhawks, and Bears. He was known to record every game, so he would never miss a pitch, goal, or touchdown. Sam also enjoyed watching his sons participate in sports and was always their biggest fan. One thing Sam loved to do in his younger days was fish, whether at a local pond or making a trip up to Canada, it just meant time to relax and have fun with friends and family.
Sam will be remembered by those who knew him as a kind, gentle, and considerate man who always went out of his way to make you feel special. He will be missed dearly.
