Shane was such a wonderful fun-loving guy. He was always smiling and always had a monster energy drink with him. Even while going through cancer treatments he was always positive. Shane was a wonderful person and will be missed. 

I worked with Msgt Cummins at 56 Contracting.   He was a very nice man and great leader.   My condolences to the family.  God bless you. 

Shane and I served together at Luke. We were on the wing Top 3 council together. He was the treasurer which means I came to him often for money. He was always kind and professional and I considered him a friend. It breaks my heart that he’s gone. My condolences to his family. Rest in heaven. 

Shane was my immediate supervisor at Luke AFB and easily the best supervisor and mentor I ever had. He was wise beyond his years, and everyone from the youngest airman to the Lieutenants wanted his guidance on a daily basis. I don’t think there is a person that worked under him from military to civilian that he didn’t impact in a positive way. He gave me treasured guidance as his troop from career, school to parenting. He shared that he got his boys to read an hour a night (I don’t remember exactly) and shared with me his process and I implemented it in my house.  The impact he’s had on my life is paramount. We often worked late In September and we would have our kids there, he would show them all his toys in his office and chat with them like he had known them their whole life. When I separated but stayed in the squadron as a civilian he told me please stop calling me MSgt Cummins, we are friends and you can call me Shane. RIP Shane, the good ones always go too soon. 

Shane was a young boy and went deer hunting with his dad and me.  We went down to the "Land Between Lakes" and camped out in the words.   One morning Barry got up early and went hunting and I stayed in bed at the camp.  Shane came running in and yelled, "Grandpa, Grandpa, the woods are on fire!"  I hurried outside to see.  The moisture on the sides of the tree trunks was burning off in the morning sunlight, and looked like smoke.   A young boy learning the woods....

I will always remember this time with Shane.  I'm sure he is now in a better place.  I am so sorry he is gone.    Love - Grandpa Cummins

Special memories of Shane in his younger years in Virginia. So happy he and our son, Matthew, were able to stay in each other lives, despite the miles. And especially happy that he was the one who escorted me down the "beach aisle" at Matt and Kelli's wedding. Special thoughts and prayers to Barry, Cathy, Autumn, Scott, Stefanie and the boys.

I am so grateful for the opportunity to have gotten to know Shane and his wonderful family. What a precious blessing. So thankful for his life, his heart and his love for family. 

Shane and I were stationed together at Hurlburt Field in the late 90’s.  When he separated from the Air Force, he asked me to take the road trip home with him from Florida to Arizona.  I agreed not only because he offered to pay for my ticket back to Florida, but he was one of the best friends I had.  We packed up his stuff and headed out in a U-Haul with a limiter that couldn’t go any faster than 55 mph because we were towing his little green Beamer (having to stay in the slow lane and getting passed by every car, really irritated Shane). I remember we pulled in to a hotel parking lot and there was no parking available that would accommodate the U-Haul, so we had to back it out.  Neither of us could figure out how to back the U-Haul with the car trailer, so Shane went up to a complete stranger and asked him if he could back the U-Haul out for us. We both thought the guy was going to drive off with his stuff and Beamer, but the guy backed it out for us, hopped out of the cab and wouldn’t take any money.  I think Shane had that kind of influence on people cause he was such a likeable guy.  I will never forget you, that road trip, or the time we spent together at Hurby. RIP brother! The world becomes a dimmer place without people like you in it.

Wingman, friend, brother in arms. Even though we were only stationed together for a year, it was a fun year.  The friendship we had remained as strong as it would have been had we been neighbors. You will be missed Shane. Rest In Peace, brother. 

I was honored that Shane allowed me and my family to be a part of his life. He was such a caring, loving, forgiving, and kind man. His smile could and did light up a room. We all were so Blessed to be able to be a part of his life. Love and Blessings!

We got to go to the Grand Canyon with Shane, Stefanie, Logan and Jonah a couple of years ago!  It was a trip I will never forget, and how much we enjoyed our time with the Cummins ❤ 

One of the best memories we shared only requires three words ..... Shots for Tata!!! This will always be the best ever! Thank you Shane for sharing your life with us💯‼️ Love you so much! 

I remember whenever we had staff meeting Shane would always be there joking with members as they walked into the meeting or while we waited for others to arrive.  He often made others smile with just a few words.  He especially liked to joke about cars and crazy things his sons had recently done.
