Sharon Marie Ellis was born on April 22, 1948, in Washington DC. On August 9, 2023, she lost her two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Sharon was raised in Falls Church, VA, and graduated from Virginia Intermont College in 1968. In college, she lettered in volleyball and basketball, which is where her kids must have gotten their athletic ability. She married James B. Ellis on April 5, 1969, and immediately watched him go to Vietnam. Upon his return, she moved with him to Fort Riley, KS; Fort Sill, OK and Fort Bragg, NC. In 1977, after leaving the Army they moved to Douglas, AZ where Sharon worked for the Douglas Police Department as a Police Secretary and then the Communications Supervisor. In 1985, they moved to El Paso, TX where she was a legal secretary. In 1987, she and her family moved to Tucson, AZ where again Sharon worked as a legal secretary and as the coordinator for the Adult Literacy Volunteers. In September 2001, the family made its final move to Surprise, AZ. In Surprise, Sharon was the Registrar for Paradise Education until she retired in 2014.
Sharon is survived by her husband, daughter Brianna (Eric), sons Ryan (Robyn) and Reid (Rachel), and her brother, Tom. She was very proud of her children and her seven grandchildren - Cameron, Peyton, Addison, Teagan, Parker, Haddie, and Remmie. She will be laid to rest when she and her husband of 54 years can lie down together. She was an amazing wife, mother, and nana. We will all miss her dearly.
