Vera “Kay” Dicks, of Avondale, Arizona, was welcomed through the gates of Heaven on the afternoon of Saturday, August 1, 2020 in Goodyear, Arizona. A Loving, Daughter, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother who will forever be loved and missed.
Kay was born in Denver, Colorado on Saturday, August 16, 1952 to Loving parents, Louis and Margie Black. It wasn’t until 1976 that Kay would move from Denver, Colorado to Phoenix, Arizona, and only two short years after that would she be married to the love of her life George M. Dicks on Thursday, January 26, 1978.
As a mother and grandmother, Kay found the most joy in spending time with her family, and taking the grandchildren shopping for anything fun. She had a very eclectic style collecting things like first addition Disney movies and TY Beany Babies. When she wasn’t with her Grandchildren and wanted to have some fun she could be found taking her chances at the slot machines; where she would unknowingly strike it lucky on a single machine winning ten – thousand dollars!
Kay is survived by her devoted and loving husband, George; eight children, Lisa Littrell, Robert Berto, Michael Dicks, Jennifer Gill, Pamela Stephenson, Kathy Byfield, Melissa Lopez and Joe Smith; Brother, Kenny Black; eight grandchildren, Thomas and Bryan Toot, Madison Littrell, Kaleb Berto, Tyler Gill, Joshua Dicks, Gabriella Lopez and Danielle Martinez; and two great-grandchildren, Allie Jean and Freya Astrid.
Kay will be missed and remembered for all time, until she and her family are reunited in Heaven.
