Our Mum was born in London, England, within the sound of Bow Bells and was a survivor of the London Blitz. She emigrated to Vancouver in 1958. In 1959 she moved to Calgary and worked for Canadian Pacific Oil & Gas as Executive Secretary to the CEO, her favorite job of all time. After marrying and the birth of her two daughters she relocated to Richmond, BC in 1966. She was the Office Supervisor, Planning & Licensing Dept., City of Richmond for 25 years. After retirement she moved to South Surrey to be close to her family. She was grateful to have wonderful neighbours and friends there over the years. She remained an active volunteer, particularly on the Executive Committee of the local Arthritis Support Group and a member of Osteoporosis Canada. She also enjoyed social activities and friendships as a member of the Women’s Probus Club of White Rock South Surrey. Tempus Fugit.
Mum was a smart, caring person who loved her family and was always there to lend a hand. She was a passionate reader of mystery novels and history and loved to talk about current events. Mum loved Canada and was forever proud to be British.
