Barbara was born September 15, 1949 in Vancouver to Alexander “Alex” and Renee Price. She is survived by her husband William “Bill” Lancaster-Allen whom she married on March 24, 2001, in Perth, Australia. Also surviving, are her mother Renee Price of Vancouver, two children, Bramble Copeman Planiden of Calgary, and Tegan Copeman of Kelowna, B.C.; two sisters Lennie “Ann” Sturrock of West Vancouver, and Kelly (Mike) Jaskow of Calgary; one brother Thomas “Tom” (Diane) Price; three nieces Lesley (Sturrock) Cook, Lauren (Price) Jans and Jessica (Price) LaBonte; one nephew Matthew Sturrock, and cousins Charles “Charlie” Price and Scott Price. Barbara was predeceased by her father Alex.
Barbara was a longtime resident of the Lower Mainland, and whether she lived to the Prairies of Canada, or Western Australia, her heart always brought her back to Vancouver.
Barbara loved to garden, and was particularly proud of the yard that she cultivated while living with her husband Bill in Perth, Western Australia. She also enjoyed travelling; One of her most recent trips was to San Francisco with her daughter Bramble, where she visited Janis Joplin’s home, a long-time icon of hers.
Barbara’s kindness and generosity was vast. Throughout her career, she was known for giving people a chance or a foot in the door, which would ultimately be the beginning of many people’s successful careers and lifelong friendships. Often referred to as the “cool” Mum or Aunt, she was known for her quick wit, perfect comebacks, and amazing sense of humour.
At the request of Barbara, there will be no service. If you would like to pay your respects to the family, you can do so on www.dignitymemorial.ca, as they would love to read how Barbara has impacted/touched you all.
