

Benjamin Kenneth Jones (Ken), of South Surrey, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Morgan Place Care Home at the age of 79. Ken was born on May 29, 1938 in Cardiff, South Wales, U.K. He grew up in, Magor with a sister and two brothers, Eileen, Des and David. In 1959, he married Janet Murison, and together they had three children, Wayne, Mark and Debra. The family later immigrated to Canada in 1981. Sadly, a few years later Janet passed away. In 1987 Ken married Pauline Akerman and became a step father to Patti and Debbie.
Ken worked in the building industry all his life. He was passionate about rugby and all the friends he made while playing. Ken played in Wales at a very young age and then later for the Vancouver Evergreens. Ken always had a spaniel by his side, he was a real dog lover and his buddy Penny will miss him.
Ken was an amazing man, very kind, compassionate and funny, he enjoyed playing jokes on people for a good laugh. He treasured time spent with his family and friends, especially his friend Tim Hortons. He was a proud grandpa to Dale, Natalie, Rhiannon, Keeley, Tathan, Curtis, Carter, Stanley, Brian, Leila and Kaelyn and a proud GREAT grandpa to Cody and Courtney. He will be greatly missed.
Ken is survived by his two sons and daughter, two step daughters and his wife Pauline.

A celebration of life will be held at Victory Memorial Park on Tuesday September 12, 2017 at 4.30pm.
