It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Boyd "Uncle Buddy" Terrell, who left us on April 8, 2025, at the age of 59, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Timmins, Ontario, on February 3, 1966, to William Terrell and Colette Terrell (Quesnel).
Uncle Buddy passed away peacefully at Abbotsford General Hospital, with his niece Kristina by his side. He was known to his friends for his quick wit, warm smile, and unwavering positivity, even during the most challenging times.
Buddy loved being an uncle and took immense pride in his family. For the past 12 years, he lived with his niece Angela, helping raise her daughters — his beloved great-nieces Miranda, Anastasia, and Rozie-Mae, with whom he shared a very special bond. Some of his favorite moments were spent having early morning coffees, smokes, and heart-to-heart talks with the girls. He also shared a close relationship with his niece Kristina, whom he affectionately called "Pitbull #1," and his great-niece Isabella, cherishing the walks to daycare and stops at the park along the way. His big heart, kindness, and willingness to help family whenever needed will always be remembered. He also shared a fond and lasting bond with his sister-in-law Mary, whom he thought of very dearly.
In Buddy's younger years, he was a talented hockey player, dreaming of playing in the NHL until an injury altered his path. His loyalty remained with his favorite team, the Toronto Maple Leafs, throughout his life.
He loved camping trips with family, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Throughout his life, Buddy also formed many cherished friendships and often spoke fondly of his dear friends — Tracy (his "Pitbull #2"), Susan, Glen, Corrine, Kenny, Gary, Brad, and Stephen — who brought much joy and laughter into his days.
Buddy was predeceased by his father William Terrell (2010), his mother Colette Terrell (Quesnel) (2020), and his nephew John Terrell (2025).
He is survived by his brothers William Terrell, Wayne Terrell, and Donald Terrell; his sister Nancy Kolpean (Wayne); his sister-in-law Mary; his nieces Angela, Kristina, Carrie, and Jenny; his nephews Wayne and Billy; and his great-nieces Miranda, Anastasia, Rozie-Mae, Isabella, AzMary, Briella, and Alisa; and his great-nephews Bellamy, Declan, and Xander.
Uncle Buddy will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever loved by all who knew him.
