A year since Bradleys passing is upon us ,Ive never stopped missing him ,never stopped loving him.Ive had so many happy experiences with this man it would be hard to share only one . I've thought of you everyday since you've been gone, Daddy. So much has happened in these last few months that I wish you were here to experience. However, I know you're up there making sure that your little girls are okay. 
I remember a few weeks before your smile faded from this world when I came to visit you at VGH, and you gave me this giant grin when I came through the door. But I'll always remember your voice and how you said to me, "I'm going to miss you guys so much." Before telling me, "I love you always and forever." Something you and mum have always said to me. 
I love you always and forever too, Daddy.

My brother said "I Love you Derrick" many times to me before he passed. I would like to thank all of you for your support on behalf of my family and Bradleys most wonderful and amazing wife Alysyn through this very difficult time in our lives. The turn out at his celebration of life is true testimony to all the lives he had touched with his wisdom and kindness, generosity and love. We as a family are coping with the loss but it has not been a smooth road. Alysyn ,my sister Lisa and I visited the Palliative care staff at VGH to thank them for all the kindness and understanding they bestowed upon us. They allowed us to walk through through the ward as another step closer to closure. Alysyn has sent me a quote she would like to share "I believe the hardest part of healing after you have lost someone you love is to recover the "you" that went away with them. Those of you that were close to Brad know that he was an avid outdoorsman and hunter ,for this years annual family hunting trip we had custom T shirts emblazoned with a photo of Brad doing one of the things he loved most of all that included his well earned nick name "Moose Magnet" .On October 11 2015 a group of family and close friends gathered on a beach, a very small beach that day to pay homage to a very special man and , atop a dozen roses ... symbolic of  Alysyn we sent Brad on his final journey afloat down the river Anzac and flowing into the river Parsnip . Paul Mcartneys version of "Let it be" playing in the back ground. we also treated him to a very Ukranian 21 gun salute. In Brads honour we have renamed the corner of Anzac & Parsnip to "Bradley Beach".  My words at the beginning of this message....I Love you Derrick" I Love you too Bones . Don't forget to say it whenever you get the chance. Im a bit new with some of this technology but I hope to post pics and video for all of you, wish me luck

This is a memory or two that my dear son and I shared together.

These are experiences that showed Bradley, at a very early age as a hard worker.

I would be doing some kind of job and from behind me came the words "I can help you with that mom".

The first time, he was seven or eight and I was trying to wield this lawn mower around that was not self propelled.  That little boy put his whole self into that job and didn'the give up till it was done.  By the way, I never saw a property with a snake population like that one.  It was inevitable that we would hit at least one and he took great pleasure in telling people that I chased them down.

He wasn't afraid of the ugliest jobs, like cleaning out this giant of a freezer we used to fill each year. There are many more stories like these, but you get the picture.

So parents watch your little ones, you may see your young child growing into the adult he or she would become.

I love and cherish my memories of you, my precious son.  Until we meet again.  Mom

I wish I had a chance to get to know you better, but I loved you because Rick loved you so much. You stood up for him at our wedding, and it meant so much to him.  You welcomed me with open arms into your family.  I will always remember how special you made the both of us feel.

I always looked forward to the end of our busy days to spend it with you either cooking dinner together going to our favourite little place at the top of the hill or at the beach..
I loved how we could talk about anything no topic was off limit and how you gave me such insight and wisdom into many a conversation. Bradley, you would have a good laugh at Jamie and I when we tried to hook up the generator when the power went out both of us had no idea what type of gas it used..of course the first thought that crossed our minds "Call Brad." Darling I'll miss miss you in so many ways a million times a day!
Rest in the Parsnip until we're together again!!

Hey Bones, your baby brother here, just wanted to say everything is OK now.  I miss you like you could never know, my one and my only brother. Our time on earth can never be erased from my memory. We had fun and a lot of it together. I pray every day that you and Uncle Dave are together, laughing about old times.  I chose a song for you as a final tribute.  Your music will resound for eternity.  I love you Brad. Taylor ridge, Grizzly Bear point and the dry creek bed, Hamburger hill are familiar places many of us shared together.  When the rivers Azac and parsnip meet you final journey will begin.  The family has now named it Bradley Beach in your honour. You will remain in many peoples hearts for eternity.

With a heavy heart, my husband Semih and I would like to send our heartfelt condolences to the Dotchuk family.  Brad was truly an amazing person, most kind, most helpful, most generous and the best boss a person could as for.  My husband Semih looked up to him as his mentor and big brother.  He will forever be missed. Rest in peace Brad.

How is it that one can sum up a person's life in a few words? The answer is you cannot.  
While hunting in the Parsnip river area many years ago, I and the other members of our group that hunt together, met The Dotchuk clan.  We were invited to camp beside them, sharing a choice spot beside the river.  Since that time a bond has grown between us and we all became close.  We found that there were many similarities between us that helped strengthen that bond.  Make no mistake however, we were competitive and enjoyed the pranks we played on each other. There were many times when we aided each other, got together to celebrate and traded stories.  When I reflect on Brad and our two groups I remember the many humorous incidents as I am sure you all do.  Snow ball fights, mouse guns, video cameras in trees and hot tub parties, to name a few, and some best left unmentioned.  Let me reminisce on one that will bring a smile to all that were there.  We were on the Parsnip where the Anzac River meets it.  It was a lazy sunny afternoon and we all took a break and did some fishing.  My dad, Herb Sr., was sleeping on a sand bank, others were fishing and I was dozing in our jet boat not far from their boat.  Brad decided to shoot his cannon of a rifle into the water beside our boat.  Well let me tell you, besides being very startled, I received a large shower of water and Herb Sr. had his heart tested. There were a lot of smiles and much laughter to say the least. 
Brad was a very much cherished and respected member of their group as well as by ours.  He knew the Parsnip River like the back of his hand.  I learned a lot about the river from him and respected his vast knowledge of the area.  It was because of this camaraderie that we knew that we had gained his and their group's trust not to mention we were never asked, does your camper float. 
Losing a father, son, brother and companion like Brad tears a wound in the heart.  It may heal but there will always be a scar. Let that scar remind us of the great man we will all miss.  Brad will live on in each one of us, his life having touched our own, leaving memories and keeping him with us in our thoughts.
To his family and friends, you have our deepest heartfelt condolences and our gratitude for having met such an extraordinary man.

To the Dotchuk family;

I met Brad more than thirty years ago as well as other members of your family, when we started hunting in the same area  north east of Prince George. I always enjoyed Brad's witty personality and "zest for life" attitude that he always conveyed during our annual trips and he will definitely be missed!! 
I have to say that I am heart broken for the loss of such a great person who has been taken from all of us that had the pleasure of knowing him! 
My thoughts are with Don, Derek and the rest of the family and I look forward to the next time we get together so that we can share hugs and fond memories of Brad

Brad, after nearly thirty years of friendship and a new rekindling upon hearing of your illness I am glad we talked so much in the last year. It was good for both of us and i enjoyed it very much. You will be missed greatly by myself and all my family which you helped over the years. Rest peacefully now i know it was a rough year hope your sitting by a fire somewhere enjoying a beer.

I will remember all the fun times we had over the years. Thanks for the friendship.

We are so sad to hear of his passing. He was very kind and helpful. We love chatting with him, and will always        remember his smile.
