Denny was born in Winnipeg and grew up in Saskatoon, graduating from Nutana Collegiate in 1945, distinguishing himself on the football field and as a provincial track and field champion. Love found him when he met Victoria in Edmonton in 1950 and they married August 1, 1952. Sons Christopher (Giselle), David (Linnea) and daughter Barbara (Paul) resourcefully provided a world class assortment of grandchildren - in order: Rhiannon, Quinn, Christopher, Sarah, Simone, Adrienne and Marcus and Grandpop blessed them all with his big smile and the twinkle in his eye. His big sister Doreen just celebrated her 90th birthday in Kelowna. Denny's natural leadership abilities, limitless energy and gift with people propelled him through a successful career in sales across the four western provinces and nine cities, retiring from Seaboard Life in Kelowna in 2000. And Denny was about much more than work. He was a builder of community, establishing programs in football, hockey and ringette across western Canada. He was Coach for scores of young people in every city he lived in. He was a proud Rotarian, active in the organization long past his retirement. He was the best son, brother, husband, father, grandpop, friend and storyteller. In lieu of donations we ask that you honour Denny by helping someone out, telling someone you love them, singing joyfully, dancing like no-one is watching or raising a glass. You know he will be smiling and he'll have that twinkle in his eye.
