After a life filled with love, devotion, and faith, Daphne Kay Wilson was called home on the evening of September 5th, 2025, entering the everlasting peace of God’s kingdom, with her husband, Claude Wilson, by her side.
Daphne was born on July 23rd, 1948, in the small hamlet of Cereal, Alberta. She is survived by her beloved husband, Claude Wilson; her two children, Deanna Gosal and Dean Scarff; her grandchildren, Ashley Gosal, Jordan Kuziek, Jayden, and Emma MacRae; her great-granddaughter, June Kuziek; her four sisters, Lorraine Ovcin, Maureen Brown, Marilyn Thompson, and Karen Davis; her sister by choice, the gift of God, Helen Vivier; and many, many more cherished family and friends.
Faith became the foundation of Daphne’s life. She was baptized on June 6th, 1982. Exactly seven years, to the day, after receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit on July 9th, 1983. She met her future husband Claude. They were married later that same year on November 17th, 1990, beginning a life together filled with love and devotion. A quiet testimony to God’s divine timing and the sacred symbolism of seven throughout Scripture—God’s number of completion and perfect timing.
Those who knew Daphne were touched by her selflessness, her warm heart, and her unwavering dedication to her family and community. Before the days Daphne was no longer able to walk, she spent her time volunteering at the church, knitting care packages to send overseas, experimenting with new recipes, or simply sharing time with loved ones. Daphne’s life radiated generosity, kindness, and laughter. She loved to craft and had a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor—during her last days, she loved seeing those around her smile, often brightening the room with jokes she would make up on the spot.
Daphne’s life and faith were a blessing to all who knew her, and her memory will continue to inspire love, kindness, and devotion. Despite being bedridden for the last few years from partial paralysis, her presence was powerful. She remained a remarkable source of strength for those around her.
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted” (Matthew 5:4).
Daphne’s funeral service will be held on Friday at 1pm, November 7th, at First Memorial Funeral Home, 14835 Fraser Highway, Surrey. There will be a reception following, those details will be provided at a later time. For those unable to attend or wishing to honor her in another way, the family invites you to perform a kind act in her memory or to share a treasured memory, keeping her spirit alive in your heart.
