Dean is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary Lou, son's Eric and Curt(Valerie), daughter Sheila (Mo) Veerkamp, grandchildren Sierra (Paul), Cole (Erin), Dustin (Aurora), Cooper and "like" sons; Keith (Kristina) and Scott (Kristin), along with 6 great grandchildren, his eldest sister Edith(103 years old) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister, first wife Pauleen and

daughter in law Linda.

Dean cherished his family, numerous friends and the great outdoors. After serving in the United

States Navy during the Korean war, he obtained a Forestry Degree at Humboldt State University and worked as a private forester until his retirement in 2002. His hobbies included golf, travel and building model airplanes. Dean belonged to many Masonic bodies and was

frequently recognized for his contributions to the organization.

Dean passed October 3, 2021 in Delta, British Columbia. Services will be held in Eureka

California at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Shriners Hospitals; The Mathewson Bonser Nursing

Scholarship c/o Marshal Hospital Foundation, or a charity of donors choice.
