Our mom, Diana Mohrsen nee Bowness, sadly passed on August 5, 2025. She will be dearly missed by many. To us she was mom but also so much more, a strong independent, adventurous spirit, always there to help and support.
Diana was born in Prince Edward Island and moved to Nova Scotia in her youth. She was a bright student, graduating at 16 and moved to Ontario at 17. From there she followed her family west to Nelson, B.C. before settling in metro Vancouver. Here, together with Leif Mohrsen, she raised her two daughters.
Diana was an active member of her community and dedicated to her faith. As an avid writer, she held many writing groups over the years, including “write your own story” encouraging others to document their life adventures. Over the years, she had many newspaper columns published, as well as self published two books. Her love of scenery led her to painting, photography, and many road trip adventures. Never one to stay still, Diana travelled the world, seeing many destinations like Australia, Scotland and Iceland.
Survived by her daughters Kirsten (Rob), Joanne (Darin), her beloved grandchildren Ashlynn, Hannah, Jessica, and Zach, and brothers Phil (Judy) and Lyle, along with nephews, nieces, cousins and life long friends. Predeceased by her brother Gregory and sister-in-law Cindy.
Diana requested donations to be made to George C. Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary, in lieu of flowers,
A Celebration of Life will be held at City Centre Church on August 23, 2025 at 11:00 am with a reception to follow. 13062 104th Ave. Surrey, BC
