Dom is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Theresa, children, Renee (Nicky), Nathan (Lizette), and Ryan (Makenzie), grandchildren, Eleni, Myla and Corbin, brother, Ben, sisters, Maring and Marina, nephews, Dion and Jay, and nieces, Tisha, Lin and Jen. He was predeceased by his parents Tat-Shing and Lai-Kum Mok, and his sister, Kate.
Born in Hong Kong, Dom spent his childhood and teenage years in Kowloon with his parents and siblings. In 1976, when he was 19 years old, he bravely immigrated to BC to sponsor his family over to Canada. There he met Theresa at Lord Tweedsmuir High School. They spent their early 20s in Vancouver and together moved back to Hong Kong to live for a year before settling down in Surrey, BC.
Dom was passionate about his family, friends, and dragon boat racing. He loved paddling, travelling, playing the Beatles on his guitar, and spending time with his friends and family. Dom will be remembered for his bright smile and big heart. He was loved by many people and will be greatly missed.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 2:00pm at Valley View Funeral Home & Cemetery, 14655 72 Ave, Surrey, BC, followed by a luncheon at the Valley View Hall.
The family would like to extend their unending thanks to everyone for their love, thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the cardiac intensive care unit at VGH: https://join.vghfoundation.ca/DomMok
