Wayne was predeceased by his wife of 57 years Gail, parents Joseph and Irene, and sister Dolores Maisey (John). He is survived by his children Chris (Marnie), Jason (Susan), Gene (Lisa), Grandchildren Justin, Taylor, Joshua, and Paige as well as many extended family and friends.
Wayne was born on May 24, 1941, to Joseph and Irene Lecuyer in Winnipeg, MB. Wayne was one of two Lecuyer children, the younger brother of Dolores. Joseph and Irene raised their family in Winnipeg on Valour Road and later Lorette Ave.
He met the love of his life, Gail Keryluk, by a chance introduction through her twin brother Larry, and were married in 1966. Wayne and Gail built and lived in their dream home for 30 years in the growing community of St. Andrews, MB. It was a welcoming home to all family and friends, a place of many festive occasions. As the boys married and emptied the nest, Wayne and Gail moved to East St. Paul, MB, where they lived for 11 years, with their final move settling into retirement in South Surrey, BC.
His working career of over 40 years began following in his dad’s footsteps, at Winnipeg Supply, as an independent contractor driving a concrete mixer.
Wayne had incredible work ethic that carried through his entire life, whether on the job or at home, he believed in doing things the right way, always striving for excellence. Beyond his work, Wayne was of strong faith, a loving husband and father who cherished time with family and friends.
Wayne and Gail enjoyed many family summer days camping around Falcon Lake and then onto a lovely spot at Arnesen’s Rocky Point near Warroad, MN. When the winters came, travelling to sunny locations around the globe was their retreat.
Wayne will always be remembered for his big heart, sharp wit & sense of humour. He will be dearly missed but will always be carried in our hearts.
