Fred passed away peacefully on May 23, 2016 at Surrey Memorial Hospital. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy, and son Lane. He is survived by his sons Bruce (Teresa) and Glenn, grandchild Tanya (Chris) Kolbe-Thompson, and great grandchild "CJ", sister Evelyn, brother Alfred, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Fred worked for and retired from the City of Vancouver, and had previously worked in the ship yards. He was an avid wood carver and won many ribbons for his carvings. Skillful with his hands, Fred was also avid at faceting beautiful gems.
A Celebration of Life for friends and family will be held in Fred's memory on June 15, at 11:00 am in Langley, BC. Please contact Melissa at First Memorial Fraser Heights Chapel for more information.
In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of choice in his memory would be greatly appreciated.
