Midge passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday morning at Suncreek Village in Surrey, BC at age 92. Midge lost her husband Lyle (Mac) McIntosh in 2005. Left to remember Midge are David McIntosh (son) and his wife Ruth (Aurora, ON), their children Andrew (Cape Town, South Africa) and Carolyn (Toronto, ON), sister Ann MacKenzie and husband Lawrence (Prince Albert, SK), sister-in-law Effie Shears (Vancouver, BC), and many nieces and nephews across Canada. Midge was predeceased by her four brothers, Les, Don, Bill, and Harold.
Midge was born in Prince Albert, SK and worked in a bank after high school. Near the end of WW2, Midge enlisted in the Canadian Army and after training was posted to Sussex, NB where her husband-to-be was serving in the army. They were married in Sussex in August 1945. After the war ended, Midge left the army and she and Mac were transferred to Vancouver, BC; David was born there in 1946. Mac's army career took the family to Montreal, Edmonton, New Westminster, and Chilliwack. Midge and Mac moved to White Rock, BC in 1970 to enjoy their retirement.
Winter months were spent in Tri-Palms, CA where Midge enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends, while Mac enjoyed his golf. Many friendships were developed in Tri-Palms with those from the prairies also seeking warmth and sunshine.
Her family expresses sincere thanks to the staff of Suncreek Village; they provided a loving family environment for Midge during her time there.
If you wish to contribute in Midge's memory, donations may be made to The Alzheimer Society or a charity of your choice,
